Japanese Culture Program
Thanks to Ms. Sandy Ho, our Anime Club thoroughly enjoyed our Japanese Culture Program.
The club sampled Japanese food, browsed through samples of Japanese Anime, sampled Japanese Science magazines, learned about some of the history (such as the robots or “dolls” used to serve the emperors in the 1700′s) and learned some basic Japanese, such as how to write their names in that language
Our Cosplay winners were Baily Scribner, Catherine King and Saskia Spector. The winner of our Name the Character was Courtney Senior. What a fun time. Everyone took part in skits and then joined into a group sing.
August Update
The New Milford Public Library Anime Addicts have continued to meet through the summer. Our latest viewing (August) was The Slayers.
I have also added a season of Birdy to our collection.
Come join us in the fall for new anime and new programming. Back by popular request in October will be a Cosplay Competition. Anime Jeopardy will be an event as well.
Feel free to bring your creativity–I will add artwork or written anime to the website as you give it to me.

Cosplay Competition October 2010
Look at the fun at our Cosplay Competition. Winners were Patrick as Ichigo Kurosaki, Bailey as Honey Senpai and Francine as Yuki Cross.
We sampled lots of Asian snack food and watched Dragon Ball Z Kai.

September Meeting
The September Meeting began by asking for new ideas. Also a reminder that next months Anime Club will hold a Cosplay Competition. Come dressed as your favorite character.
We learned about the ningyo paper doll and everyone had the chance to make one of his/her own. According to tradition, if a person touches this doll, all the bad spirits in his or her body goes into it. Once the ningyo doll takes the bad spirits, the person throws it into the river so that it is carried to sea.
The DVD which we watched was Full Metal Alchemist, the Brotherhood.
